Ginny Everett is Director, News Research Services at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Prior to arriving at the AJC in 1994, she was the library director at The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, TN from 1988 to 1994. Before that she worked in public libraries in Memphis and in Georgia.

Ginny Everett is the 1999-2000 Chair of the News Division having been the Division's 1998-1999 Chair-Elect of the Division and its designated program planner for the 1999 Minneapolis conference. She is a past News Division membership chair, and was President, Mid-South Chapter, SLA, 1991-1992. She has an M.L.S. from the University of Alabama and a B.A. in English from Wesleyan College.

She speaks regularly on topics related to information services and news organizations. She has spoken on Web archives at Interactive Newspapers and at SLA. She spoke in April, 1999 on creating an online photo store at the "Mining the Newspaper for Profit" conference in Baltimore. In 1999 she was a visiting faculty member at The Poynter Institute's "Leadership for the 21st Century" seminar.
