The Gallup Organization
The Gallup Organization's site offers access to press releases and special reports on current issues and trends. Selected historical data going back as far as 1937 is available. There is also an archives of selected material.

Carolina Pulse Poll.
The Pulse Poll, a telephone survey of Chapel Hill and Carrboro, is conducted at least once a year by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Designed to assess opinion of issues of interest to local government, the poll also features input from JOMC students.

The Institute for Research In Social Science's Public Opinion Item Index (The Odum Institute)
The Institute for Research in Social Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill maintains a variety of national and statewide public opinion poll data which is available through their Data Holdings Catalog. Included is the exclusive national depository for all survey data collected since 1965 by Louis Harris and Associates, Inc. The Harris Polls, together with the 7 additional public opinion surveys that make up the collection, are all organized into IRSS's Public Opinion Item Index which allows any researcher connected to the Internet to view questions and frequency distributions of state and national polls, as well as to perform a complete keyword search of the entire Index.

The Pew Research Center: The People & The Press
The Pew Research Center for The People & The Press published 25 reports in 1996, based on interviews of more than 21,000 people from all walks of life, across the U.S. and the political spectrum. This web site offers a look at the data collected and trends identified. It is a useful site for those seeking patterns in news media usage.

The Public Opinion Laboratory is an interdisciplinary survey research center located on the Indianapolis campus of Indiana University.
