1978: Social issues came to the front -- Equal Rights Amendment
November 1978: Liquor by the drink approved in North Carolina
1981: Sara Aull Student Paper Award Competition was launched
April 11, 1986: 20th Anniversary of NC/SLA observed in Raleigh
1989: Three new Chapter awards created --
