libraries were featured: The Christian Science Monitor, Spokane
Spokesman-Review, Illustrated Daily News in Los Angeles, and the Daily
Californian the University of California's student newspaper.

written by veteran News Division members.

1979
Basic Specifications for a Full-Text On-Line Automated Newspaper
Library System. This publication was highly successful in terms of
readership and revenue for the Division. The editorial board included James
S. Scofield from the St. Petersburg Times library, Andrew V. Ippolito
with Newsday's library, Kathleen Trimble from the Toledo Blade
library, Ernest Perez with the Houston Chronicle library, and Beverly
Russell from the Seattle Times library. [Note: It was
superceded by the Division's 1987 publication, Automating Newspaper
Clipping Files.]
